July Board
Meeting Highlights
The Treasurer's Report was approved.
The Bluffs informed us that it must increase our per-person charge for weekly
luncheons as a measure to help offset the significant food and staffing cost
increases. The new charge will be $8.00 per person and a 15% gratuity will
be added to our final bill. So this adds up to $9.20 per meal.
Consequently, the board approved charging those Kiwanians and their guests who
eat a meal $10. Active members will pay $5 for meals missed and senior
members will pay $3 for meals missed. The charges become effective with
the quarter that begins this month. Members were reminded of our summer
picnic at the Aeblis on July 12 and our Chicken BBQ on September 6.
Beattie is planning an Interclub with Marquette Noon Club for Monday, July 21.

Kiwanis College of Knowledge
As written above, the board approved
charging $10 per meal instead of $9.20 for easier bookkeeping as well as to help
pay for the free meals given to our speakers and prospective members. Most
members of our club feel meals provided to us by the Bluffs compares well with
comparable meals provided at restaurants in our area. It was also pointed
out our Treasurer's Report for the administrative year to day shows we already
paid $7,262.96 for meals while receiving $5,477.85 in payment for these meals;
so, the difference is $1,785.11. Our June bill for meals will soon be sent
to us and your last quarter billing will soon be sent out to you.
